Call numbers for Medical Officers on Duty

  • I have a question. How many OvD-G vehicles are there per Safety Region?

In the appendix the "National ambulance care number plan Netherlands"

It states that the third number 8 and the sequence numbers 01 to 19 are reserved for OvD-G and CvD-G.

So, here's the question: How are these 19 numbers distributed between the OvD-G and CvD-G?

  • Each region is different. In my region Gelderland-Zuid we have 4 OVD-G (2 per section): 08-801, 08-802, 08-803 and 08-804. 08-805 is a spare car. 2 cars per shift, 1 per section. Eastsection is 801 or 803. Westsection is 802 or 804. But depending on availability they can operate in the whole region instead of their own section.

In our neighbour region Zuid-Holland Zuid there are 2 OVD-G: 18-801 and 18-802. They also have 2 CVD: 18-550 and 18-551. These two are used if the Lifeliner helicopter or car responses. Otherwise it's the OVD-G. All 4 cars are in service each shift.

In region Utrecht it's completly different. There are 2 types of ovd-g: operated by RAVU and operated by the safety region VRU. The RAVU uses RR/OVDG, so they can also operate as rapid responder. 3 cars: 09-380, 09-381 and 09-382. The VRU is just OVD-G: 09-811, 09-812 and 09-813. Each shift there are 2 cars active. This can be: VRU-RAVU, RAVU-RAVU or VRU-VRU.

So you see, each one is different.
